Located in downtown Black Mountain, N.C., Town Hardware & General Store occupies three historic buildings dating from the 1920s (one used to be the 5-and-10 and one used to be the drug store).
We are still a working hardware store, with all the products and services you would expect from a top-of-the-line hardware. In addition, however, we carry a number of hard-to-find items -- not just in hardware and tools, but also in housewares, toys, and outdoor living.
Hours: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Saturday 12 noon - 5 p.m. Sunday Closed Dec. 25, Jan. 1, Thanksgiving & Easter Sunday
May marks the beginning of our busy season here in Black Mountain with lots of activities every weekend. We've been busy stocking up for summer.
We have added two new lines that are made in the Carolinas. One line is some wonderful baskets woven from textile remnants in South Carolina. The other is a series of high quality axes from Council Tools. They are made in North Carolina by a family-owned firm and have won lots of awards.
